Retail Radar: Godfather: Mob Wars, Sims 2 Glamour Life Stuff-November 2024
Nov 29, 2024 10:54 PM

If you've been paying attention to Shippin' Out of late, you've likely noticed that gaming retail is in a bit of a slow period right now. Likewise, the amount of fodder for the Retail Radar has lessened, but there are still a few noteworthy new names to drop in the form of a pair of Electronic Arts games.

First off, the PSP version of The Godfather appears to have undergone a name change. Product listings for the game on the Electronics Boutique and GameStop sites have the game listed now as The Godfather: Mob Wars. Unfortunately, there are no indications about what this means for the actual gameplay. The product description is still the same as for the already released PlayStation 2 version of the game, references to dual analog sticks and all.

Another new title that has popped up on the merged retailers' internal database is The Sims 2: Glamour Life Stuff for the PC, a GameStop employee told GameSpot. There's no product listing for the game on the retailer's Web site, but the name certainly conjures up images of obnoxious Paris Hilton-styled Sims walking around with tiny dogs on their arms. The listed $20 price tag for Glamour Life Stuff would suggest a collection of new items for the game along the lines (and nomenclature) of the smaller-scale Family Fun Stuff expansion pack, rather than a full-fledged expansion pack along the lines of The Sims 2: Open for Business or The Sims 2: Nightlife.

Finally, From Software's DS ninja stealth game Tenchu: Dark Secret, will be available exclusively through GameStop and Electronics Boutique when it ships in late August, according to a note on the product listing page of the retailers' site. This isn't the only exclusive the one-time rivals have lined up; they're also set to be the only place gamers can pick up the Collector's Edition release of Final Fantasy XII when it launches for the PS2 October 31.

Please note, while retailer listings frequently jump the gun on publishers' product announcements, they should not be taken as final confirmation of a game's existence, nor should the absence of a listing be considered as proof that a game isn't coming to a given platform.
