After a few spin-off games, a new entry of the Resident Evil series, Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, is finally getting released in a few months. Ever since its reveal a few months back, long time fans have noticed how the game feels different from previous entries of the series, despite Capcom stating time and time again that some familiar franchise features will be back in the new game. A couple of new short teasers made available recently showcase some of these returning features.
The two recent Resident Evil 7 teasers, which can be watched below, showcase a fixed save point in the style of the typewriters from older Resident Evil games, the classic health bar, and the knife, a handy weapon coming back from previous entries which will have a variety of uses in the new game.
Last week, Resident Evil 7 producer Masachika Kawata talked about the game's demo, revealing that the team plans to release it on other formats in the future. The producer also talked about the lack of online modes and the Resident Evul 2 full remake, which has been in the works for some time.
We do plan to update the demo on PSN for the players to experience the other aspects of the game. We don’t have a fixed date [for the release], but it will definitely be out before the game comes out.
To celebrate the release of the PlayStation VR headset last week, Capcom released the Resident Evil 7 KITCHEN VR demo. The demo, which is available as part of the PSVR demo disc in North America and as a free download in Europe, allows players to check out some of the features of the upcoming game.
Resident Evil 7 launches on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on January 24th, 2017 in all regions. We will keep you updated on Capcom's survival horror game as soon as more comes in on it, so stay tuned for all the latest news.
