The new Remnant II: The Awakened King expansion includes a variety of weapons, gear, and other goodies to collect, with one of the most sought-after being the stylish new Crimson Guard Armor Set. Acquiring this armor requires you to take a series of very specific steps and, as a bonus, doing so will also unlock a dark secret ending to The Awakened King storyline. So, here’s how to get the Crimson Guard Armor Set and check out that secret ending…

　　Warning: The following guide includes SPOILERS for Remnant II: The Awakened King.

　　Step 1 – To start, you need to make sure you have the Gilded Chambers location included in your The Awakened King playthrough. This location will be accessible as a side dungeon via the Mournful Promenade area. Not every playthrough of The Awakened King will include the Gilded Chambers. In fact, since it’s a location from the original base game, there’s a high chance it won’t be included in your first The Awakened King playthrough. So, either finish The Awakened King and don’t worry about getting the Crimson Guard armor until a future playthrough or re-roll the adventure until you get the Gilded Chambers.Step 2 – Once you’ve confirmed you’ve got the Gilded Chambers, play to the end of The Awakened King and defeat the One True King boss.Step 3 – Now, head back to the Gilded Chambers and play through the area as usual. As in the base game, you have the option to not fight the Gilded Chambers’ boss the Red Prince. Instead, kill three “Teleport Fae” (pictured above) to collect a trio of Crimson King Coins. If you can’t find enough Teleport Fae enemies, simply rest at the checkpoint to respawn them.Step 4 – Head to the end of the Gilded Chambers and offer The Red Prince the three Crimson King Coins as tribute. As a reward, you’ll get the Blood Steel Splinter crafting item and… be murdered. Gee, thanks.Step 5 – Once you respawn, The Red Prince should be missing from his usual place in the Gilded Chambers. Where’d he go? It was previously a mystery, but now we know. Head back to where you fought the One True King (Chamber of the Faithless) and hey, the Red Prince is hanging out there! Seems he plans to take credit for you killing the One True King – sneaky bastard. As gratitude, he rewards you with the Crimson Guard Armor Set.And there you have it – the real The Awakened King ending, and some pretty stylish new duds to impress your co-op buddies with.
