Like the base game, the new Remnant II: The Awakened King includes a number of events that may randomly happen as you play through the adventure. One of the new ones included in The Awakened King is the Ethereal Manor, a creepy mansion that will trap you within its confines unless you can puzzle a way out. This can be a bit frustrating if you can't figure out what you’re supposed to do, but don’t worry, we’ve got the solution for you…

　　As you make your way through The Awakened King’s new Sunken Haunt area, you may come across a creepy mansion that isn’t on fire and overrun with enemies like the rest of the level. Hmmm! As you explore the second floor of the mansion, you’ll encounter a man sitting in a chair. If you interact with him, he’ll leap up, should “Wake up!” and the game will cut to black. You’re now trapped in the Ethereal Manor and have to figure a way out.

　　Step 1 – Head in and interact with the journal on the table. This will allow you to interact with all the doors in the Manor. There are 5 in total – 2 on the ground floor, 3 on the upper floor. Your goal is to pick up a quest item, the first one being the “Strange Talisman,” which is inside one of the rooms. You can only open one of the rooms per “round” – if you choose wrong, most of the other doors will be locked off, with only one containing the strange man still being accessible. If you make a mistake, you’ll have to talk to the man again to reset the whole puzzle.Step 2 – Okay, so how do you know which room has the key item? Well, if you’ve got the Explorer Archetype equipped you can “cheat” by using the Fortune Hunter skill to mark which item the room is in, but there’s another way. The quest items are marked by a large red flare and all the doors actually have a small window in them you can peek through. Rotate the camera and you should be able to see the red light indicating the quest item is in that room.Step 3 – Repeat the above step four more times, collecting different quest items in different rooms. I don’t believe there’s a preset order to which rooms the quest items will be in. First you’ll get the Strange Talisman, then the Bloody Talisman for the second, third, and fourth round, and finally it becomes the Death-Soaked Idol on the fifth round. At this point, you escape the Ethereal Manor and can keep the Death-Soaked Idol, which is an equippable item.Note: If you happen to have a Liquid Escape consumable, you can get out of the Ethereal Manor the easy way by transporting back to the last World Stone. This will actually earn you a different item – the Crimson Dreamstone. You can also access the basement through the second room on the main floor, which contains a treasure chest with some goodies in it.
