Redfall Launch Trailer Ramps up the Vampire Slaying Action with a Black Hole Sun Cover-September 2024
Sep 22, 2024 8:27 PM

A new trailer for Arkane Austin's story-driven FPS Redfall has aired today. This new trailer drags our heroes from old-town Massachusetts to psychic underworlds in a flurry of gunshots and special powers. The trailer is set to an exclusive new cover version of the classic song Black Hole Sun, and it ramps up the vampire-blasting action with its unique set pieces.

You can watch the latest Redfall trailer below.

The town of Redfall is filled with perils as our heroes use special powers and guns. In a world where everyone and their vampire gods are out to get you, the main protagonists are going to need every advantage they can muster. You can see the surreal environments and other supernatural threats that the player will be facing off against in this latest trailer as they face off against the darkness.

Redfall is an open-world first-person shooter game with co-op support for up to 4 players. You can either face off against the vampiric threat on your own or squad up with other players. After some concerns from the studio fans, Game Director Harvey Smith assured that Redfall would be the classic Arkane experience if played solo. There won’t be any bots with you, regardless of the hero you choose.

Recently, the game's system requirements for its PC port were revealed, showing specifications on par with those sought by Deathloop. GeForce RTX users will also be able to take advantage of DLSS Super Resolution (DLSS 2). RTX 40 Series graphics card owners can expect an even greater performance boost thanks to DLSS Frame Generation (DLSS 3).

Haven’t been keeping up with Redfall? Here’s everything you need to know about the game. Wccftech’s Alessio Palumbo was able to go hands-on with a preview version of the game and found it to be one of Akrane’s more atmospheric titles to date. The game is set to be released on PC and Xbox Series X|S on May 2.

Speaking of Redfall, one of the most controversial aspects surrounding the game's release involves the lack of a 60 FPS mode. In fact, this game is the first next-generation exclusive game that will release without a Performance Mode targeting 60 frames per second gameplay. This decision has been found to have been made quite recently as pictures of the retail copies of the Xbox Series X|S version of the game showed 60 FPS support featured on the back of the box.
