Red Dead Redemption PC Announcement Is “Up to the Developers”
Red Dead Redemption PC Announcement Is “Up to the Developers”-October 2024
Oct 20, 2024 5:02 PM

Red Dead Redemption is coming to PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch next week, but it seems like the port is not going to skip PC this time around, judging from a recent comment from Rockstar Games' parent company Take-Two CEO.

Speaking during the company's latest financial call, Zelnick was asked by IGN about a PC release of the open-world game. Neither confirming nor denying a PC version of the port, the Take-Two CEO simply said that game release announcements are up to the developers, a statement that suggests that Red Dead Redemption will eventually hit PC at some point in the future.

Strauss Zelnick also commented on the frankly ridiculous price tag of the new Red Dead Redemption PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch ports, saying that they believe it is a commercially accurate price for it. Commenting on ports, remasters, and remakes, Zelnick revealed that, in the absence of a power vision, Take-Two can decide to release simple ports instead of remakes and remasters, so how a title is brought on modern platforms is decided on a game-to-game basis. What's surprising is the lack of a powerful vision for a game like RDR, which definitely deserves a remake, despite having aged relatively well.

Red Dead Redemption launches on August 17th on PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. We will let you know more about a PC port as soon as possible, so stay tuned for all the latest news.
