Red Dead Redemption 2 Day One Patch Includes Improvements And Bug Fixes; Size Revealed-October 2024
Oct 19, 2024 3:26 AM

Red Dead Redemption 2 is going to receive a day one patch, like most major recent releases, and today Rockstar Games revealed some additional details on it.

According to the developer, the Red Dead Redemption 2 day one patch is going to bring some significant improvements to the game, so it's suggested that players wait for the update to install before launching the game.

The Day-One Title Update includes a range of across-the-board improvements and bug fixes for optimal performance. We strongly recommend making sure you have downloaded the Title Update before launching the game, to ensure the best possible gameplay experience.

The size of the patch has also been confirmed. It will be 3.30 GB big on PlayStation 4 and a little lighter, 3.20 GB, on Xbox One.

Yesterday, Rockstar North director of technology Phil Hooker spoke about how Euphoria has been evolved in Red Dead Redemption 2.

Enemies now have a greater array of reactions if they’re injured, and if you try to lasso an enemy, they will sometimes try and reach for the rope or even fire off a few shots in the struggle to get free. This is all in addition to fine-tuning the classic Western stunt falls that were present in the original game and much more. Some of the coolest implementations in Red Dead Redemption 2 are about making human and animal collisions more impactful – making sure running your horse into vehicles, trees or buildings feels suitably intense. This is part of our larger goal to always make you feel like you’re physically in the world and also that there are consequences to being careless with your animal.

Red Dead Redemption 2 launches tomorrow on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in all regions.
