Ubisoft has done a great job of supporting Rainbow Six Siege, delivering over three years of new content, with more to come (the goal is to eventually deliver 100 unique Operators). That said, the flow of Rainbow Six Siege content has become somewhat predictable – each season we get two Operators, a new or reworked map, and some fresh cosmetics, but will Ubisoft ever mix things up in a more substantial way? Will we ever see any big new modes or changes to the way Siege plays? It seems we just might!
According to several Redditors, Ubisoft recently sent out a survey to Rainbow Six Siege players. Interestingly, one of the questions asks fans to rate how interested they’d be in various “new types of gameplay.” The options include your typical multiplayer match types like capture the flag, team deathmatch, PvP, and co-op PvE, but also more exciting possibilities like a full solo campaign or an open-world exploration mode. Needless to say, the latter two would be a pretty huge shakeup for Rainbow Six Siege – they almost sound like all-new games, rather than mere updates.
Speaking of all-new games, the next question in the survey asks how much you’d be willing to pay “if a new full game were created based on Rainbow Six Siege, but with a different direction (with new modes, map, enemies, and cosmetic content).” Well, that’s certainly intriguing! Is Ubisoft planning a Rainbow Six Siege sequel or spinoff? Given the game’s surprising ongoing success, turning Siege into a full-on franchise wouldn’t be the worst idea in the world.
Of course, none of the stuff Ubisoft asks about in their survey is guaranteed to happen, so don’t get too hyped just yet. That said, it does give some indication of where the publisher’s head is at. You can let Ubisoft know where you’d like to see the Siege series go by taking the survey yourself.
Rainbow Six Siege is available now on PC, Xbox One, and PS4. The game’s Year 4 content kicked off with Operation Burnt Horizon back in March.
