We're finally one day away from the release of Rage 2, which launches May 14 on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Co-developed by Id Software and Avalanche Studios and published by Bethesda, Rage 2 is an open-world shooter set in a Mad Max-like post-apocalyptic world.
Rage 2 is the sequel to Rage, which released nearly eight years ago. Never played the first game? Here's what you need to know: A comet has smashed into Earth, decimating the landscape and killing off 80% of the population. For the few who are left, anarchy reigns, bullets fly, and explosions are as common as a cold. The game also features a healthy dose of vehicular combat, which comes as no surprise, seeing as Avalanche Studios' last game was Just Cause 4. There's even a gyrocopter for anyone who wants to take to the air.

Over the past couple of weeks, Bethesda has been drumming up hype for the game with couple of unique giveaways. The first was a custom Rage 2 Dreamcast (really a disguised PC) that came equipped to play the game. The second giveaway, which you can still enter through Sunday, is for a humorous set of Rage 2 Xbox One controllers that reference Walmart Canada's leak of the game in 2018.
Rage 2 is also adding an extra layer of interactivity with a few special Twitch extensions that let viewers revive you if you die out in the wasteland and pull viewer names as opponents in in-game races. Plus, viewers who participate will also get drops in their own games, like weapon skins.
[Update]: Our Rage 2 review is finally out, so be sure to check that out before deciding whether to pick up the game. Critic Michael Higham scored the game 6/10 for a main mission that felt short, underwhelming characters, and meaningless side quests, but did praise the game's "clever, destructive abilities," fun combat, and skill tree upgrades.
If you've decided you're all-in on Rage 2, you're probably wondering what kind of extra freebies you can get for ordering your copy before Tuesday. We have all the info you need below.
