As expected, RAGE 2 has been officially confirmed by Bethesda Softworks with the trailer embedded below. Furthermore, the official website also confirms the platforms (PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One) and the box art for the retail copy. There's also a brief description of the game itself, which suggests that the game will be much more open than the first installment (thankfully - this was one of the wishes we listed yesterday).
Last but not least, the website also confirms that the game is being developed by Avalanche Studios, the makers of Mad Max, alongside id Software. If nothing else, the vehicular combat should be far improved compared to the first RAGE.

The gameplay trailer will be available tomorrow, so we won't have to wait until E3 to see how RAGE 2 actually looks.
