Quantic Gaming CEO accused of owing thousands to eSports players, staff-January 2024
Jan 6, 2025 3:00 PM

One of the team's top StarCraft II player Ko "HyuN" Hyun says that North American eSports company Quantic Gaming's former CEO Simon Boudreault owes him $23,000 in salary and prize money. The Daily Dot reports that Boudreault owes other Quantic Gaming team members a cumulative $40,000.

The 23-years-old Canadian Boudreault has been missing since Dec. 17. The last time one of Quantic's staff spoke to him, Boudreault said he was going to get a biopsy on a lump on his lung, saying there a good chance it would be cancerous. No one has seen or spoken to him since, but Boudreault hasn't paid players for months prior. Hyun suspects that Boudreault has simply spent all of his savings.

Boudreault, who previously owned eSports team 4Not, acquired the Quantic Gaming brand in February 2013. The Daily Dot's in-depth piece on Quantic Gaming makes it clear that it's been mismanaged for a long time.

While its CEO may be gone, it seems as if the Quantic Gaming twitter account is still maintained by volunteers, who are also supporting Hyun in his efforts to raise money for legal representation.
