The legendary QuakeCon, which celebrates its eighteenth year in business will once again feature a 1v1 Quake Live duel tournament, where 32 of the world’s best Quake Live players will have the chance to compete for $20,000 in a single-elimination Bo5 bracket.
Whilst the overall prize pool has diminished over the past years at each consecutive QuakeCon, as well as being criticized for its handling of the arena shooter’s competitive scene, the LAN in Dallas, Texas is still considered to be one of the majors in the realm of Quake and has served as a proving ground for many of the franchise’s overall most accomplished names such as John ‘ZeRo4’ Hill, Paul ‘czm’ Nelson and Shane ‘Rapha’ Hendrixson. Hendrixson will return as the event’s reigning champion.
QuakeCon will take place between July 17-20.
