Quake Wars tourney rumbling on GameSpot-October 2024
Oct 26, 2024 10:28 PM

Gear up, soldiers! Registration begins today at 3 p.m. Pacific time for GameSpot's Earth Under Siege tournament for Quake Wars: Enemy Territory. Until 12 p.m. Pacific time on October 22, GameSpot Total Access Subscribers can enlist their six-troop squad for the 32-team conflict. Matches begin on October 22, and gladiators will be battling it out in stopwatch mode. The Earth Under Siege finals will be broadcast live on Tournament TV on October 26 at 4 p.m. Pacific time. Those who emerge victorious from the final round will each receive a Hewlett Packard Blackbird 002 (a $16,200 total value).

GameSpot's Earth Under Siege tournament is open to GameSpot Total Access Subscribers aged 13 and older. Entrants must also be residents of the US or Canada (excluding the province of Quebec). To sign up and get a complete rundown of the tournament, head over to the Earth Under Siege registration page.

Developed by Splash Damage, the critically well-received shooter is a prequel of sorts to Quake 2. In the game, players are dropped into the middle of a Strogg invasion and can combat (or ally with) the hordes as a member of the Global Defense Force. Players can select from one of five characters in online and offline modes. The game is rated T for Teen, and will be released for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 next year.
