Recently it was announced that ESL will organize the first big PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds tournament at Gamescom 2017, an event to be held in Cologne, Germany from 22 to 26 August. The community will be able to support the tournament by purchasing special in-game attire that will only be available for a limited time.

　　Bluehole has announced that from August 3 to the end of Gamescom 2017 special outfits will be on sale at Steam for PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds. These were inspired by the Japanese movie Battle Royale, whose ideas were taken up by the creator of PUBG, Brendan "PlayerUnknown" Greene.

　　From this date, PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds players will be able to purchase special clothing and accessories on Steam without having to subject themselves to the usual random loot boxes. In addition, during the period in which the special content is available, users will find new loot boxes: Wanderer and Survivor.

　　Along with the new loot boxes and the ability to purchase special outfits, Bluehole has revealed that there will be a third box that can only be opened with a key whose cost is $2.50. This is the Gamescom Invitational Crate, which will contain the largest assortment of clothing and accessories for players.

　　The PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds Gamescom 2017 tournament features a total of $350,000 in prizes, according to organizer ESL. The competition will take place between 22 and 26 August in the German city of Cologne and will feature the eight best players in the world, influencers and all those attending Gamescom, according to ESL in its statement released late afternoon.

　　PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds has seen a resounding success in sales, recently surpassing five million copies sold only a few months after its debut on Steam Early Access. In the near future, it is also expected to come out on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One video game consoles. Since its launch, PUBG has uninterruptedly occupied top positions on the streaming platform of Twitch.

　　PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds is available on PC and will land on Xbox One later this year.
