Psygnosis has announced plans to conquer the world via Global Domination, a "new genre" of game that is planned for release late in 1998 for the PC and PlayStation.
Global Domination will combine three-dimensional strategy, wargaming, and arcade combat with multiple levels of gameplay and 16-player network games (alas, two on the PlayStation).
The player will basically control the entire war effort, determining strategy, diplomacy, and tactics. Once a battle commences, the player can put himself in the front lines, using many different kinds of weapons and vehicles.
Global Domination will also come with about 20 preset missions with live full motion video briefings and an in-game scenario editor, as well as an academy mode (training missions) and an arcade mode (little or no strategy involved).
Minimum system requirements for the PC version will probably be a Pentium 133 with 16MB of RAM, though the game will make use of a 3D accelerator if present. Global Domination is being developed by Leeds Studio in England.
