PS4 firmware 7.0 launched as a beta earlier today, with Sony touting the increased party size (from eight to sixteen players) and the capability to perform a system update with rebooting the PlayStation 4 console as the main new features.
However, as it turns out, there's another major addition that testers have discovered. PlayStation 4 owners with an HDR display will now be able to tune brightness and darkness at the system level, which is great news as there are plenty of games lacking a proper tuning feature. Early reports also suggest this affects applications such as Netflix, too.
Below you can watch a video of the HDR tuning feature as demonstrated by 'lefte stali'. If you have access to the PS4 firmware 7.0 beta, let us know in the comments whether this feature actually delivers improvements with HDR content (games, movies, TV shows).
