Insomniac Games’ Spiderman has outsold multiplatform title Far Cry 5 in the UK in only 4 weeks.
Sony and Insomniac released Spiderman for exclusively for PlayStation 4 last month, and after being on sale for less than a month, the title has already overtaken Far Cry 5 sales in the UK. Ubisoft released Far Cry 5 back in March of this year, and apart from being on sale for 6 months, the game was released on PC and consoles.
Truth be told, the UK sales data doesn’t factor in digital downloads, but it’s still an impressive feat.
“The arrival of FIFA means that Spider-Man drops to No.2 for the week”, GamesIndustry.biz writes. “Sony's game is now the second best-selling game of the year as it has overtaken Far Cry 5 in just four weeks. It's an impressive achievement for the PS4 title, as it is only available on one platform (admittedly, the UK's most popular console).”
Spiderman is available now globally for PS4. Far Cry 5 is available worldwide for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Ubisoft's latest Far Cry installment recently received a new patch.
