In a recent article in a Japanese print magazine called Bart, we learned that the DVD player in the Sony PlayStation2 will have minimal features. Users will not have the multi-angle, multi-story, and subtitling options available. Though not confirmed, it was also said that to access the DVD-ROMs, one must put a special CD-ROM in the drive beforehand.
Though none of the information comes officially from Sony Computer Entertainment, it is worth taking note of, particularly to those who are considering purchasing the PlayStation2because of its secondary use as a DVD player. We'll keep you posted.
