Project CARS 2 To Support 12K And VR At Launch; Full Announcement Trailer Released-April 2024

We have known for some time that Project CARS 2, the second entry in the racing series by Slightly Mad Studios, is in the works, but today we have finally received an official confirmation that the game will be coming to PC and consoles later this year.

The new Project CARS 2 announcement trailer, which can be watched below, highlights some of the features of the upcoming game such as an improved and more dynamic weather system, off-road dirt and snow racing and more.

Project CARS 2 is the next evolution in the award-winning racing series, featuring the most iconic cars under the most thrilling of conditions to deliver the “Ultimate Driver Journey” experience. Created by gamers, tested by world-class racing drivers, and the definitive choice of e-Sports pros – Project CARS 2 brings together the essence of motorsports racing in the most beautiful, authentically crafted, and technically advanced racing game on the planet.

Additionally, it's been confirmed that the PC version will support VR at launch, like its predecessor. Project CARS 2 will also come with 12K resolution support, allowing players owning three 4K monitors to enjoy the game at a really high resolution.

Last month, the Slightly Mad CEO revealed some details on Project CARS 2 and on how the team is improving upon the first game's formula.

We have rewritten the rendering system. We have added multiple newly written and very important modules to the physics, drivetrain, differential and tire modeling systems. The FFB system is now much more intuitive and comes with presets. The handling is transformed, in a very very good way. I’m biased I know but right now in the latest build I have, those cars that have all of the new systems in place have raised the bar for simulation… and this is before they are polished.

None of the famous brands are missing this time.

We’ve started QA already. We plan at least 7 months of QA for polishing and bug fixing.

Project CARS 2 launches in late 2017 on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
