Last weekend the first Pokémon Go Fest happened in Chicago and many fans came with the idea of being part of a great experience; however, things did not go as expected and the Pokémon Go FEST was a failure.

　　Following the unfortunate situation, some fans met and decided to initiate a lawsuit against the company responsible for the game.

　　According to information from Chicago lawyer Thomas Zimmerman, Jonathan Norton, attendees to the Pokémon GO Fest from California, contacted him to request his services for a lawsuit he and a group of attendees plan to make against Niantic, requesting that the company cover the expenses incurred for transportation and other related expenses.

　　Zimmerman has also added the following:

　　"We’re not seeking any relief with respect to the failure to get legendary Pokémon because Niantic is offering that. But Niantic is not offering to refund people’s travel expenses for coming to Chicago. Most of the people came from out of state, many people from other countries — I talked to someone who flew in from Japan."

　　"The issue is, what was promised, what was the incentive that people relied on and the representations that people relied on to buy a ticket and make travel plans and fly to Chicago to participate in this festival, would they have done that had they known that that was not going to be lived up to and they weren’t going to get the experience that was represented?"

　　The suit, according to Zimmerman, would be focused on Niantic's breach of what it promised for the festival. It is worth mentioning that in response to the annoyance of fans present in the Pokémon Go Fest, Niantic offered reimbursement for tickets, $100 in credit to spend on the game and, after all problems, the global rewards, something that the lawyer considers that it is not sufficient to repair the damages.

　　Finally, Thomas Zimmerman reported that his prospective customers are only looking for Niantic to cover the travel expenses and all those related to the transfer of the attendees, even stated that one of the interested parties flew from Japan to attend the Pokémon Go Fest.
