The PlayStation VR headset is finally available for purchase in all regions, allowing player to enjoy a VR experience on the PlayStation 4 console. However, it seems like the headset has some uses even without a PlayStation 4, as some users have discovered earlier today.

　　A few hours ago, the popular Japanese blog Hachima Kikou reported that the PlayStation VR headset can be used on PC in cinematic mode. Additionally, it seems like the headset can be used with any other HDMI device, with some users having been able to use it with a Wii U to play Splatoon, which is definitely impressive. Needless to say, the fact that the PlayStation VR can be used on PC in cinematic mode may open up some interesting possibilities in the future.

　　Other users also tried using the PlayStation VR headset with an Xbox One console, and it does indeed work, albeit without any sound, requiring players to plug headphones into the console's output. It's not perfect, but it's definitely good enough.

　　The PlayStation VR headset has been released today in all regions for the price of $399.99. The headset sports a 5.7-inch OLED display running at a 120 Hz rate and has a total resolution of 1920 x 1080 at 960 x 1080 per eye. Alongside the headset, several exclusive games have also been released today, such as Batman: Arkham VR, while other titles come with partial PlayStation VR support and exclusive content such as the recently released Rise of the Tomb Raider and the upcoming Final Fantasy XV. The Square Enix role playing game may also be getting a PlayStation VR focused DLC in the future.
