Originally, Sony was only going to open pre-orders for the Launch Bundle, but the company has now announced that it will offer a standalone, "core" version on March 29.

"It's clear that there's a lot of interest from many of you to secure the PlayStation VR core system, and I'm happy to share that we've decided to make it available for pre-order on Tuesday, March 29, at 7:00 a.m. PST at participating retailers," Sony's John Koller said in a statement.

This is probably good news for people who already own a PlayStation Camera and/or Move controllers. The Launch Bundle and standalone version will ship in October 2016.

In other news about PlayStation VR, a Sony engineer said at the Game Developers Conference that the company will "probably" reject any game that comes in below 60fps.

"It's really hard, and I'm not going to lie to and say it's extremely easy...it's really difficult," Chris Norden explained to an audience of developers. But still, "60hz is the minimum acceptable framerate. Everybody drill that into your heads."
