Unique Development Studio has revealed that it has been commissioned by Sony Computer Entertainment Europe to develop an arcade-style racing game for the Sony PlayStation console. The game will carry the well-known WRC rally racing license. UDS said that as long as Sony continues to market games for its original PlayStation console and support it with the release of innovative hardware peripherals, the company will continue to develop games for that platform.

　　"We are naturally most pleased to sign such a financially significant contract, but of equal importance is the unofficial status of first-party suppliers that comes with the order," said Thomas Lofblad, managing director at UDS. "Only the best developers are chosen to work directly with Sony. We hope that this signals the beginning of a long and mutually beneficial partnership with the world's most successful and important vendor of game consoles, Sony.''

　　The PlayStation racing game will be released worldwide next year. Unique Development Studio is also working on an adventure game based on the Futurama television series for multiple consoles and an action-adventure game tentatively titled Core for the Microsoft Xbox.
