Sony is at the forefront of the headphone industry, and yet, their official PlayStation Gold Wireless Headset has always felt a bit on the cheap side. Granted, you can only expect so much from a $100 pair of headphones, but still, Sony is certainly capable of better.

　　Thankfully, the Gold Wireless Headset is getting a much-needed upgrade. This new headset boasts a more modern design, and a few other added features. Get the full rundown from Sony, below.

　　Still a relatively basic design, but undoubtedly a major improvement over the original Gold Wireless Headset, which looked like no-name hardware you’d buy at Best Buy for $50. The new version of the headset will keep the $100 price point, which is a pretty solid deal for wireless noise-cancelling headphones from a major brand name. Sony hasn’t given a specific release date for the revamped headphones, but promise they’ll hit shelves “in the next few weeks”.

　　Anybody planning to pick up the redesigned Gold Wireless Headset? I already own a fancier pair of headphones, but if I was looking for a budget-friendly replacement, I’d certainly consider the new Gold Wireless Headset. That wouldn't have been the case with the old model.
