New PlayStation 5 Slim pictures were shared online, providing a better look at the console's size, its new stand, and more.

　　The pictures, which X/Twitter user @phantompainss originally shared, compare the new console model with the original one, highlighting once again how the new console isn't that much slimmer than the original released in 2020 and the new stand. An additional screenshot also confirms how the detachable disc drive requires an internet connection to be activated for the first time.

　　The new PlayStation 5 Slim brings other changes outside of light design changes over the original model. The new console features a 1 TB SSD, offering slightly more storage space than the current models, and two USB Type-C ports. As mentioned, the Digital Edition of the system is compatible with a detachable disc drive sold separately. Unfortunately, the Digital Edition also sees a price increase in the United States, as retails for $449 instead of $399.

　　With the PlayStation 5 Slim rolling out this month alongside the Remote Play-focused PlayStation Portal handheld, Sony is now free to focus wholly on the PlayStation 5 Pro. While the console has yet to be officially confirmed, we have learned it may be powered by a Zen 2 eight-core CPU, 60 Compute Units RDNA3 GPU, which, alongside some other improvements, will allow the console to deliver more consistent 4K performance, better ray tracing, and possibly an 8K Performance Mode.
