When Planetweb announced its so-called "iEnhance" capable browser for use on the Sega Dreamcast, many assumed that the company would maintain an exclusive relationship with the video games maker. Adding more fuel to that speculation was the fact that Sega is a minority owner in the company, with close to a 10 percent stake. However, as mentioned originally in a Forbes.com report, the company is aggressively pursuing similar arrangements with Sony and Nintendo involving their upcoming Internet- capable consoles.

　　Although Planetweb would not comment on specific deals, when questioned for comment, company representative Vanessa Wager told GameSpot, " Planetweb is pursuing strategic alliances with major players in the gaming industry, as well as companies in the consumer electronics market as a whole. We are continually evaluating opportunities to integrate our Internet software products and services into consumer electronics devices, which will enable us to deliver a premium Internet experience to customers"

　　This interest in providing Internet browser and portal services for upcoming console systems, alongside the Dreamcast, is part of the company's plans for integrating its Internet services to all levels of electronics devices. In addition to future consoles, Planetweb is also interested in including its software in DVD players and set-top boxes.
