Online Interactive Network Corporation (OINC) and Diamond Multimedia Systems will be engaging in a series of joint-marketing activities. The program will feature product giveaways, discounts, online banner ad placements, and reciprocal web links.
OINC is preparing to launch the Internet game Piggyland; the first joint-marketing project between the two companies will center on Diamond Multimedia's 56K External Modems and Piggyland. Piggyland's first 500 subscribers will be entered into a drawing to win one of 20 modems. Piggyland "citizens" will also be eligible for future promotions to receive free Diamond Multimedia products and discounts.
OINC describes its game this way: "Players enter Piggyland represented by a pig avatar and equipped with only labor hours and their wits. They negotiate with other online players for salary, resources, and commodities to move up the economic ladder and achieve the ultimatestatus of Boss Hog."
