Having played or reviewed practically every major racing game of the year, I've known for a long time that 2005 is going to be one of the toughest in memory when it comes to choosing the best driving game of the year. With Forza, Gran Turismo 4, Burnout Revenge, Moto GP 3 named just off the top of my head, I know it's going to be a tough, hard-fought choice between a lineup of incredible games. Now, you can add one more game to that list of hopefuls: Project Gotham Racing 3; Bizarre Creations' latest in its heralded racing series and a fitting beginning to the next generation of gaming.
I flat out love this game and enjoyed every second I had with it. I also think that, regardless of your level of driving game enthusiasm, PGR 3 belongs in your Xbox 360 collection. It's a seamless and and sexy mix of speed, style, gorgeous looks, and one of the best racing soundtracks I've ever heard. The single player game, comprised mostly of the solo career mode, won't take very long to complete but Xbox Live is where this game will live and breath in the months to come. As soon as I've got my Xbox 360, you can bet I'll be online most nights taking on all comers.
