Pet Sematary Prequel Movie Casts Jackie Brown Star Pam Grier-October 2024
Oct 22, 2024 7:27 AM

The Pet Sematary prequel has added Pam Grier to its cast. As reported by Variety, the Jackie Brown star will co-star in the follow-up to the 2019 Stephen King adaptation.

No details about Grier's character have been revealed yet. Grier was Golden Globe Award-nominated for her lead role in Quentin Tarantino's 1997 crime thriller Jackie Brown and was one the main stars of the acclaimed 2000s TV drama The L Word. She was also one of the biggest stars of the '70s Blaxploitation craze, appearing in iconic movies such as Coffy, Foxy Brown, and Friday Foster.

In the Pet Sematary prequel, Grier will join a cast that includes Jackson White (Mrs. Fletcher), Forrest Goodluck (The Revenant), Jack Mulhern (Mare of Easttown), and Natalie Alyn Lind (The Goldbergs). The movie will be directed and written by Lindsey Beer and is set to start production in August. It will be released exclusively on Paramount+ but doesn't yet have a confirmed release date or title.

The 2019 Pet Sematary was the second adaptation of King's 1983 novel and was directed by Kevin Kölsch and Dennis Widmyer. The first version was directed in 1989 by Mary Lambert and was followed by a 1992 sequel, Pet Sematary Two.

Like many of its streaming rivals, Paramount is using its service as both a destination for big movies after they leave theaters and as a home for streaming exclusives. The next Paranormal Activity movie will also debut on Paramount+, while films such as Top Gun Maverick, No Time To Die, and the next Mission Impossible will hit the service after their theatrical release.
