Konami has confirmed Pro Evolution Soccer 2014 will launch in North, South, and Central America on September 24, the same day EA Sports' FIFA 14 arrives on store shelves in the regions.
It is not clear if the games will go head-to-head in Europe, as Konami did not reveal a European launch date for PES 2014. Meanwhile, EA Sports has confirmed a September 27 release in the region.
PES 2014 will be available for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 and is powered by Kojima Productions' Fox Engine, said to boost the authenticity of the game's in-game mechanics like collision detection and player models.
The Fox Engine is also behind the upcoming next-generation open-world game Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.
