GameSpot has learned that Electronic Arts has picked up the US publishing rights to Golf Paradise for the PlayStation 2. However, the game will arrive stateside under the new name, Swing Away Golf. Described as a role-playing golf game, Swing Away Golf lets players choose from seven different characters with varying skill levels and six different Caddy options each with their own advice, strategy styles, and personality traits. Modes of play include the instructional or practice mode, stroke and match play tournaments, and specific contests such as skins and best ball.
The game was developed and published in Japan by T&E Soft. Electronic Arts expects to release Swing Away Golf in fall 2000 in the US.
