On Friday, GameSpot News ran a brief interview with Mike Lescault, a former director of business development at Boston-based Papyrus.
After Lescault told us that he resigned from the company, Sierra Sports, the Sierra division parent of Papyrus, informed us that Lescault had not resigned but was fired. In addition, there were two other resignations at the company - although they were unrelated to Lescault's leaving.
Sean Gleason, director of marketing for Sierra Sports, released this statement to GameSpot News on Monday.
"Papyrus recently received two resignations and exercised one termination. The timing of these employees' departures was not simultaneous, and the departure of three individuals over a short period of time was coincidental.
"The Papyrus development division has undergone considerable change over the last six months as Sierra Sports prepares for the future of its motor sports strategy. While we will miss the talents and contributions of the valued employees that have resigned recently, it will have no impact on our development activities at Papyrus."
GameSpot News contacted Lescault again to get a reaction to the above statement, and he apologized for not being as clear about his termination. He confirmed that he was indeed terminated and had no intention of hiding that information.
