Namco has provided GameSpot News with screenshots of the only two titles they have coming in '98: Tales of Destiny and Pac-Man 3D. Readers will remember that a different 3D Pac-Man title, Pac-Man: Ghost Zone, was seen at last year's E3 convention.
The game saw the hapless retro gamer sucked into the world of the original Pac-Man arcade game. The ghosts weren't the player's only problem - there was also a Ghost Lord who wanted said player obliterated. The game's 3D environments had a mix of influences ranging from Pac-Man-esque neon to Mario 64-ish water levels.
Pac-Man: Ghost Zone was set for a November '97 release. It is unknown how many if any of the above elements have stayed in the upcoming Pac Man 3D, but the game looks much different than the previous version.
Tales of Destiny is a PlayStation sequel to Namco's SuperFamicom RPG, Tales of Phantasia. In it, the player finds himself as a hero with a bad case of wanderlust in a world of talking swords and dragons.
Both titles are planned for a fourth-quarter release for the Sony PlayStation.
