Blizzard will reportedly be announcing Overwatch 2 during its Blizzcon 2019 event later this week.
Earlier this year, Kotaku already reported that Blizzard is actively working on an Overwatch sequel following the cancelation of StarCraft FPS title. A new document obtained by ESPN now claims that Overwatch 2 is actually being announced later this week at Blizzard’s annual gaming event.
According to the document, Overwatch 2 will include PvE features, new game modes, a new hero, new maps and more. Both in-game items and Hero talents are said to be available in the all-new Overwatch 2 PvE mode. One of the missions included in this mode, will allegedly be story experience set in Rio de Janeiro featuring 4 players
Alongside the new PvE features, the Overwatch sequel will reportedly offer a new game mode called ‘Push’ which are believed to be playable alongside the new PvE story mode at Blizzcon this weekend. According to the ESPN, Blizzard will also be announcing at least one new Hero for Overwatch 2.
Blizzard has yet to officially comment on the existence of Overwatch 2 so take the information above with a pinch of salt for now. Of course, there's also the possibility that we're merely looking at an expansion for the original Overwatch but the new logo that came with the alleged documents suggests otherwise.
As always, we will keep you updated.
