Over 100 Titles Are Currently In Development For Nintendo Switch, President Kimishima Confirms-September 2024
Sep 21, 2024 3:42 PM

Following the Nintendo Switch full reveal last month, many have expressed concern regarding the games launching for the console in the first few months after release. Since the presentation, however, things have changed, and for the better.

In a recent statement, Nintendo's President Tatsumi Kimishima confirmed that there are over 100 Nintendo Switch titles in development from over 70 publishers, which is a higher number than the one confirmed during last month's presentation.

After the presentation on January 13, we have continued to receive requests from more and more software publishers who want to develop games for the system. At the presentation, we announced that there were over 80 titles in development from more than 50 software publishers, but that number has now climbed to over 100 titles from more than 70 publishers. Please look forward to more announcements about the software lineup in the future.

During last month's presentation, Nintendo finally confirmed that the Switch will launch in all regions on March 3rd, also giving some details on the console's unique features such as the Joy-Con controllers and more.

Nintendo Switch is a breakthrough home video game system. It not only connects to a TV at home, but it also instantly transforms into an on-the-go handheld using its 6.2-inch screen. For the first time, players can enjoy a full home-console experience anytime, anywhere. The screen includes capacitive multi-touch capabilities for compatible games. Battery life can last for more than six hours, but will vary depending on the software and usage conditions. For example, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild can be played for roughly three hours on a single charge. While away from home, Nintendo Switch can be charged by plugging the AC adapter into the console’s USB Type-C connector.

The Nintendo Switch launches in all regions on March 3rd.
