Origin announced a few new additions to its operations this week. Considering the company's loss of some key players in its development groups and the recent problems with a Ultima Online support staffer - the new additions look to be just what Origin needs to recover.
Interplay's Alan Pavish will be moving to Origin as an exclusive producer. Pavish's 17-year gaming resume includes Wasteland, Descent 1, 2, and 3, Star Trek: Starfleet Academy, Stonekeep, and Die by the Sword. The company did not announce what title(s) he would be working on.
Former Engage Games Online founder and executive, Jessica Mulligan, will become Origin's director of external relations for online services. Mulligan's 12-year resume highlights include work on the first graphics-based online RPG for America Online and on General Electric's Genie online service.
Kesmai Corporation's Jason Bell joins Origin as producer. His work highlights include Aliens Online, Multiplayer Battletech, Air Warrior III, and Legends of Kesmai. Bell will lead Origin's Ultima Online Live development team.
