Unlike what was suggested a few days back, physical copies of Starfield will include the game's disc, but only on consoles, Bethesda confirmed today on its official website.
In a new page detailing the game's pre-order bonuses, Constellation Edition, and Early Access details, the publisher confirmed that a game disc will only be included in the retail edition of Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S version. The physical PC standard edition will only include a game code. The physical Constellation Edition will only include a download code as well, which is baffling, considering it is supposed to be the game's ultimate edition.
As expected for a game that features a massive world with several explorable planets, Starfield will come with a hefty download size of 125 GB, at least on PC. An SSD will also be required to play, which, again, is no surprise to ensure the smoothest experience possible for a massive open-world role-playing game.
As Bethesda is now owned by Microsoft, Starfield will release only on Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, as well as on PC. While PlayStation 5 owners are being left behind, the Xbox console exclusivity brought something good, as the game wouldn't release in just a few weeks if it were in development for an additional format, according to Pete Hines.
Starfield launches on PC, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S on September 6th worldwide.
