OnLive is launching in a scant few hours, and we got to sit down with Steve Perlman, CEO of OnLive, to learn more about the service. Apparently the $15 a month price point that was brought up almost a year ago was merely a guess or "worst case scenario" that the company wanted to throw out as a placeholder. OnLive announced actual pricing earlier this week and revealed that the first year would be entirely free. After that, users could choose to continue service for $4.95 a month thereafter. To be clear, there is no obligation to continue beyond the first year.
Mr. Perlman also shows us what OnLive looks like running on the iPad and reveals that Internet-enabled TVs will be able to run OnLive without either the upcoming MicroConsole or a computer.
