According to a Datamonitor report, online gaming in the US and Europe could reach US$4.8 billion by 2004. Of course, US gamers will be responsible for $2.8 billion as the Europeans catch up with $2.1 billion of the total amount.
The report also says that PC-based Internet usage will be the basis for the growth in profits with next-generation Internet-enabled consoles like the Dreamcast pulling up in second place.
