Nintendo's long-awaited Metroid Prime has shot straight to number one on ELSPA's official UK game sales chart as compiled by Chart-Track this week, while last week's number one, Tenchu: Wrath of Heaven, fell six places down to seventh position. The remainder of the top 10 is more or less what we've come to expect in recent weeks, although Ubi Soft's Rayman 3 did manage to climb from 10th position to third now that it's available on all current console platforms.
In addition to Metroid Prime, new entries this week included Rainbow Six 3: Raven Shield and the Xbox version of Shenmue II. Super Mario Sunshine also put in an unexpected appearance at number 17, no doubt because of the game's new budget price and because of the fact that major UK retailers including Argos and Dixons have recently slashed their GameCube console prices.
