The Nintendo Switch and Super NES Classic Edition were the best-selling systems in the U.S. for the month of October.

　　NPD hardware sales numbers for last month indicate that Nintendo has been dominating hardware sales in the US, and according to the NPD, Nintendo systems accounted for two-thirds of all video game hardware sold in the United States for the second month in a row when combined with sales from the Nintendo 3DS family. “The U.S. video game industry achieved hardware sales of more than 1 million total units in October for the first time since 2011”, BusinessWire reports.

　　As covered last month, the Switch was also the best-selling platform in the U.S. for the month of September. “This marks the third straight month that Nintendo Switch has been No. 1, and the fifth time overall in the seven months since its launch”, Nintendo said last month. “Nintendo Switch has already surpassed 2 million units sold in the U.S. alone, and has yet to go through its first holiday shopping season.”

　　The Nintendo Switch was released back in March of this year. Nintendo released the SNES Classic mini, also called the Super NES Classic Edition, back in September of this year.
