Obi-Wan Series Delayed Slightly, Now Premiering With 2 Episodes-November 2024
Nov 4, 2024 1:25 PM

Disney's big new Star Wars TV show, Obi-Wan Kenobi, has been delayed very slightly, and there is good news to soften the blow for the Disney+ program. Series star Ewan McGregor announced in a video that the new series has been delayed by two days, shifting from May 25 to May 27.

McGregor didn't provide any reason or explanation for the slight shift, but he also confirmed that the first two episodes will now premiere on day one as opposed to the original plan to have just one episode kick things off.

The limited series also brings back Joel Edgerton as Owen Lars, while Grant Feely plays the young Luke Skywalker. Mark Hamill recently gave his approval for Feely to play the role that he made famous in the original films. Hayden Christensen returns to play Darth Vader.

Obi-Wan is just the latest Star Wars TV show for Disney+. It follows the massively popular The Mandalorian, which is set to return for Season 3 this year. Another show, The Book of Boba Fett, debuted in 2021, while Disney is also producing a Rogue One TV series called Andor.

Disney employees recently walked out in protest of Florida's "Don't Say Gay" bill. The bill has since been signed into law by Florida governor Ron Desantis, and The Walt Disney Company condemned it, vowing to help repeal it or get the courts to strike it down.
