Mega Brands and Ubisoft today announced a partnership to create a new line of Assassin’s Creed construction sets for fall 2014.
Mega Bloks, a toy very similar to Lego, already offers construction sets based on other games like Halo, World of Warcraft, Skylanders, and Call of Duty.
"Working with a partner like Mega Brands allows us to bring new experiences to loyal fans of Assassin's Creed and introduce it to new audiences," Ubisoft’s SVP of marketing and sales Tony Key said. "This collection captures the spirit of Assassin's Creed bringing to life the characters and rich historical settings in a fun way."
The announcement did not include any images of the sets or specify which characters and particular Assassin’s Creed games they’ll represent.
Last week, Ubisoft also revealed that it partnered with Cryptozoic Entertainment (makers of Walking Dead and Adventure Time board games and card decks), for Assassin’s Creed: Arena, a 2-4 player tabletop game.
Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, which launched last fall, is the most recent entry in the core series and has shipped 10 million copies to date. A new installment in the main franchise has been released every year since 2009, but Ubisoft has yet to announce 2014's game.
