Not Dead Yet-January 2024
Jan 14, 2025 5:34 PM

Last week, the games industry received a shock when GT Interactive announced that it had shut down developer Cavedog because of lower-than-expected returns for the third fiscal quarter of 1999. The news left doubt regarding the status of The Iron Plague and Good & Evil, two games still under development at the defunct Cavedog.

During an interview with GameSpot, Infogrames (owner of GT Interactive) CEO Bruno Bonnel said that the two games Cavedog was working on prior to the GT announcement would still be developed. The Iron Plague, an expansion pack for Total Annihilation: Kingdoms, will still ship in March in the US as previously planned. Development on Ron Gilbert's Good & Evil will still proceed as scheduled, although Bonnel didn't indicate which of Infogrames' partnered developers would work on the game and what influence, if any, designer Ron Gilbert would have.

We'll keep you updated as more details become available.
