Sony officials have informed GameSpot that the company currently has no plans to bring Wipeout 3: Special Edition to the US PlayStation. The recently announced compilation release for the European PlayStation features three tracks from Wipeout, five from Wipeout 2047, and eight from Wipeout 3. It also includes several teams, weapons, and vehicles from those three Wipeout games. Unless Sony of America has a change of heart, the intriguing new Wipeout 3: Special Edition will not be available in North America.
Of course, Sony does plan to release Wipeout Fusion for the PlayStation 2 stateside.
