Acclaim has confirmed that it has cancelled all products based on its Ferrari license, including Ferrari 360 Challenge for the Sony PlayStation 2. The company has released an official statement that states, "Due to a decline in revenues brought about by the transition in the market, Acclaim has reevaluated the investment requirement for Ferrari and made the decision to suspend future development of all titles under the Ferrari license. Instead, the Company will continue to focus its efforts on the development of high-quality, next-generation product for the PlayStation 2, X-Box and Nintendo's next-generation platform, and marketing efforts for its upcoming releases. Acclaim projects to spend in excess of $50 million in research and development in the next fiscal year."
The company has no current plans to revive the franchise in the foreseeable future.
