One of the many games present at Sony Computer Entertainment's pre-E3 press conference in trailer form this afternoon was NioH, an action game being developed at Koei under the direction of Kou Shibusawa. Shibusawa's previous credits include Romance of the Three Kingdoms, Nobunaga's Ambition, and Kessen, so it should come as no surprise that today's trailer features two armies clashing on a battlefield--one of them led by a heroic-looking samurai who makes short work of any enemy who gets too close.
Like many of the PS3 trailers shown at today's event, it's difficult to tell whether or not the footage of NioH is representative of what we can expect to see in-game. If it is, then it looks like you, playing as the Yoshimitsu-like samurai who steals the show, will have access to almost as many different moves as the aforementioned Tekken series favorite, including sword attacks, leg sweeps, and even a jump kick that takes out two opponents simultaneously.
No release date has been announced for NioH at this time, but we'll bring you more information as soon as it becomes available.
