Even before the Nintendo Switch got unveiled last month, Ubisoft has been among the publishers that have praised the console and its peculiar hybrid nature. In a recent interview, Ubisoft EMEA boss talked about the publisher's expectations for the console as well as about what it will bring in gaming.

　　Speaking with Famitsu about the Nintendo Switch, Ubisoft EMEA Boss Alain Corre gave an example on how the Just Dance series, whose new entry will also launch on the new Nintendo console, can change thanks to the Switch, noting how the hardware really helps expand the possibilities of fun.

　　We have big expectations for the innovative Nintendo Switch. Our Just Dance franchise, for example, is one that people enjoy with families. With the Nintendo Switch in hand, children, their parents, or even their grandparents, would be able to dance out in the backyard on holidays. Doesn't that sound exciting (laughs)? The hardware really helps expand the possibilities of fun, people of all ages will be able to play games anywhere. We hope to have a wide variety of software available, but we're unable to go into details just yet. Sorry (laughs).

　　Ubisoft's excitement is, as mentioned above, nothing new, with the publisher working on several titles for the soon to be released console. According to recent rumors, a Mario - Rabbids role-playing game is currently in the works.

　　The title will focus on the Mario universe being invaded by Ubisoft’s Rabbids characters, some friend and some foe, and will feature a new Bowser form based around the design of the Rabbids as a recurring boss enemy. While there will be numerous cameo appearances from the Mario series’ best known characters, the core party will feature numerous, more minor characters. There is a particular focus on Yoshi as a primary party member, alongside a playable Rabbid.

　　The Nintendo Switch launches this March in all regions, with more regarding the price and launch titles coming this January.
