In the past few weeks, we have heard some rumors regarding two new Nintendo Switch models which are going to be released in the future. While work on the upgraded new model seems to be far from being complete, the Lite model seems to be pretty much ready for release.
A new article posted on Bloomberg suggests that the Nintendo Switch Lite is going to be released in late June worldwide. The current model is apparently getting a modest upgrade, and the rumored more powerful model is actually not in development.
Growth in the current period will get a boost from the launch of a new, cheaper version of the Switch, according to two people familiar with the matter who requested anonymity to discuss private plans. The new device will likely be launched by the end of June, according to one of the people. The existing Switch will receive a modest upgrade this year, though a more powerful version is not in the works, the people said.
Last week, Nikkei also talked about the supposed Pro model, and it was clear that Nintendo still hasn't decided on what to do with it. If it is releasing, it will definitely be much later than the Lite mode.
Nintendo is believed to be experimenting on a number of different things for the device, including usability, improved image rendering, and changes to the operating system, among other things.
With the E3 right around the corner, it won't take much to learn more about the new Nintendo Switch models. We will keep you updated on them as soon as more come in on them, so stay tuned for all the latest news.
