Nintendo Switch 2 Recent Reports Are Not Accurate, According to Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa-October 2024
Oct 26, 2024 6:30 PM

Some of the recent reports on the Nintendo Switch 2 are not accurate, according to Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa, who highlighted how the console wasn't shown in the past few months behind closed doors.

Speaking during today's press conference that followed the release of the company's latest financial results as reported by Japanese publication The Mainichi, Furukawa-san spoke about the highly anticipated next Nintendo console, pointing out how reports of the console being demonstrated to specific software makers in 2022 and of the system being shown behind closed doors at Gamescom this summer are not accurate. The Nintendo president also commented on a patent showcasing what seemed like detachable screens, saying that it may not apply to any future hardware from the company.

As Nintendo has yet to reveal the Nintendo Switch 2, Shuntaro Furukawa's statement doesn't sound too surprising, as he may be trying to keep rumors and wild speculation in check until the company is ready to unveil the new system. Still, there's little doubt that some developers are aware of some of the console's capabilities, even if they may not have been informed about them as said in the reports, especially if the system is launching next year.

The Nintendo Switch 2 has yet to be officially revealed. We will keep you updated on the console as soon as more come in on it, so stay tuned for all the latest news.
